At the Temple Sholom Learning Center, it is our mission to create Jewish educational experiences that mirror the joy, spiritual vitality, and the authentic quest for tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tikkun ha middot (personal spiritual growth).
At Temple Sholom, we believe study should:
- Be a personal and spiritual engagement that connects the mind and the heart—it should move each of us to more fully encounter ourselves, each other, and God.
- Strengthen us as a community and inspire each of us individually and collectively to increase our level of Jewish involvement/observance and do our part to repair the world.
- Reflect our commitment to Israel and to the Jewish people.
- Provide a learning experience in a variety of methods to address the needs of the individual child.
Pre-K children attend one Sunday a month, from 9:00 am–11:30 am (please see our calendar for exact dates).
Grades K–2nd meet on Sundays only from 9:00 am–11:30 am.
For 3rd through 6th grade, the Temple Sholom Learning Center schedule comprises four hours of classes: two and a half hours on Sunday morning from 9:00 am-11:30 am and one and a half hours on a weekday afternoon. To accommodate the busy lives of modern families, parents and students can choose their weekday—either Tuesday or Wednesday. Students who miss their regular weekday class may, with prior office approval, be accommodated on the other class day that week.
7th grade meets on Tuesday afternoon, from 4:30 pm-6:00 pm.
